팀 소개 및 탐방내용

Korea’s rapid industrial growth from the 1960s onward, especially in the economic area has caused air, land and water pollution, thereby worsening environmental conditions within the country. Due to these negative impacts of economic advancement, South Korea has commenced implementing innovative policies and practices on behalf of achieving a balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability. These efforts are successfully recognized internationally as role models for other countries also struggling to manage similar environmental problems. The prominent instances of such eco-friendly innovative policies and practices in Korea are garbage classification, recycling, utilization, ecovillages, eco-parks, eco-farms and the promotion of civic consciousness and educational activities. These eco-activities strive to maintain a harmonic lifestyle between societies and natural environments. Our project consequently aims to determine the impact those institutions have in promoting an eco-friendly Korea. In fact, to achieve our objective we have identified the following three dimensions, 1. Environmental education and awareness. 2. Ecological conservation and ecotourism. 3. Environmental Policymaking.
